Does forming an LLP automatically require GST registration?
The LLP label alone does not decide the answer. Review the LLP's supplies, turnover, states of operation and any compulsory-registration provision or notified relief. Equally, a low-turnover LLP should not assume that turnover is the only test.
Which records should the LLP prepare?
Prepare incorporation and constitution records, the LLP's PAN, authorised-signatory details and supporting evidence for the principal place of business. Match the applicant name and address throughout the application. The verification method must be appropriate to the entity and the current GST portal workflow.
Does GST replace the LLP's other filings?
No. Keep GST invoicing and returns separate from LLP statutory filings and income-tax work. Assign an owner to each calendar. After registration, verify the certificate and complete applicable profile and bank details. A change of partner, address or activity should trigger a check of which records need updating.
