Importance of Spices Board Registration
Having a Valid Certificate of Registration from Spices Board is mandatory for any manufacturer or merchant who is dealing with export of spices.
Also, the Spices Board Act, 1986 states that No person shall, after the commencement of this Act, commence or carry on the business of export of any spice under and in accordance with a certificate. Provided that a person is carrying on the business of export of spices immediately before the commencement, and if he has made an application for such certificate within the said period of three months till the disposal of such application.

Procedure of Spices Board Registration
Step 1. Online Application
To apply for Spices Board Certificate, the very first step is online registration on the government portal. Details such as IEC, mobile number and e-mail ID would be required. After verification of mobile number and email ID, applicants would be redirected to fill an online application.
Step 2. Documents Uploading
The applicant has to fill all the details asked in the form. It is important to note that IEC should be carefully filled as Spices Board issues CRES as per IEC details. This was the end of Part-1 of the form. After completion of Part-1, a unique application number would be generated which would be used for future references.
Now, the applicant has to use that application number and log in to the online portal. Now, the applicant is required to upload all the necessary documents along with the photograph in the prescribed formats.
Step 3. Payment thru NEFT
Step 4. Verification by Spice Board
After the successful payment, application is then sent to the concerned Regional Office of the Board for verification. If any discrepancy is found in the application, it would be reverted back for rectification and re-submission. If the documents are in order, application will be processed at HO. After processing, it is then sent to the concerned Regional Office.
Step 5. Issuance of Spice Board Certificate (CRES)
On completion of registration at HO, the Certificate of Registration as an Exporter of Spices (CRES) would be issued and the applicant will get login ID along with password to download the CRES certificate.
